Auto Body Shop Estimator - Position Overview

If you are an experienced Bodyshop technicians with strong skills looking for job that offer a good environment working place Join Merriam Bodyshop. In this role, you will take ownership of non-structural and light structural vehicle repairs, moving vehicles efficiently from teardown through metalwork and prep to ensure flawless delivery to the paint department.

This position is designed for an experienced professional who operates independently on standard body repairs but is looking to rapidly expand their skills into advanced structural diagnostics, frame pulling, and complex OEM procedures. You will work in a high-volume, well-equipped shop with a steady pipeline of work, giving you the immediate ability to maximize your hours and earning potential.

Job Responsibilities

• Remove, repair, and replace damaged vehicle body panels and structural elements.

• Perform metal pulling, plastic welding, stud welding, and specialized dent repairs.

• Operate welding machinery, cutting torches, and frame-straightening equipment safely.

• Properly apply filler and sand surfaces to ensure accurate prepping for the paint process.

• A strong eye for detail, a pride in craftsmanship, and a reliable work ethic.

• Attend/collaborate with team during daily production meetings

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional automotive collision or structural repair experience (depending on seniority level)

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs independently and stand for long shifts.

• Must possess your own standard set of hand tools, air tools, and a toolbox.
